I’m Ken Reusser, a third-generation contractor with over 20 years in the industry and 14 years as a general contractor. For me, this has always been more than just a job—it’s a passion and a craft I’ve dedicated my life to perfecting. Over the years, I’ve earned a reputation for delivering exceptional projects, including custom homes, remodeling, additions, design, and commercial tenant improvements. Beyond that, I understand the nuances of MEP trades, blending hands-on expertise with proven business strategies across all crafts.
Starting Contractor Growth Academy wasn’t about building another business—it was about creating a lasting impact. It’s about empowering hardworking contractors like you to take control of your future and create a better life.
For me, my passion for serving and helping others far outweighs my passion for building. This drive stems from my entrepreneurial roots and the values instilled in me by my family.
Entrepreneurship has always been in my blood, inspired by a family legacy of business ownership. I was also fortunate to be mentored by my grandmother, Trudy Reusser, an MBA graduate from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business. Her mentorship instilled in me strategic planning, business growth insights, and an understanding of what it takes to build and sustain success—lessons that now fuel the coaching I provide to others.
They say it takes 10,000 hours to master a craft—that’s about 4.8 years of full-time work. But I didn’t stop there.
But expertise isn’t just about clocking hours—it’s about learning what works and what doesn’t.
What does experience really do for you?
My first year as a contractor, I worked 76 hours in 5 days and only netted $8,000. Today, as a part-time contractor working just 3 days a week, I’ve earned $30,000 in net profit over the same 5-day span. It’s not just about working harder—it’s about working smarter.
Here’s how I’ve used that approach to achieve real results:
These lessons didn’t come easily. I’ve learned through trial and error how to create systems that deliver smarter, faster results, and bigger wins. And now, I’m ready to help you sidestep the hard way and get to success faster because if I can do it, so can you. With all my experience, I understand firsthand what it takes to shift from a craftsperson’s mindset to that of a business owner and entrepreneur.
It happened naturally. Ever since I can I've been someone's mentor. I always found myself drawn to helping others and sharing what I know with those around me. Then, over eight years ago, I noticed people—former workmates, subcontractors, employees, and other contractors in my network kept coming to me with questions:
They weren’t just asking out of curiosity—they needed help solving real problems. That’s when I decided to take everything I had been working on for myself and start to package it. That became the beginnings of the MasterCraft Coaching Method.
The more I shared my systems and strategies, the more I saw how transformative they could be for others. I realized I could make a real impact by sharing what I’ve learned on a broader scale.
Today, my construction business is thriving—but it was a rough road getting here. Early in my career, I struggled to find mentors who could guide me through the challenges of building a successful construction business. I had to figure things out the hard way, and I know how isolating and frustrating that can be.
After coming from humble beginnings and toughing it out to build my company from scratch, it’s time to give back. That’s why I’m so passionate about standing shoulder to shoulder with hardworking contractors who are walking the same path I did.
With over 6,000 hours of specialized industry and business training, a degree in Construction Management, and two decades of hands-on experience, I’m not just another business coach—I come from the trades. I’m still running my contracting company, so I know exactly how to help contractors take their businesses to the next level.
By the age of 25, I had already spent seven years in the trades, earned a CM degree, and completed a tough-as-nails apprenticeship program through the carpenter’s union—a program so demanding that only 3 in 10 individuals advanced to journey-level carpenter. That same year, I started my own business.
In 2011, I founded High Tech Pacific Builders, LLC, and built it into a successful business that continues to deliver exceptional results in the Greater Seattle area to this day. Along the way, I gained deep expertise in construction, business management, marketing, and development—learning exactly what it takes to build, scale, and sustain a successful company.
Here’s the truth: Making the shift from a craftsperson’s mindset to that of a business owner and entrepreneur isn’t easy—but it is possible. With the right systems, strategies, and guidance, you can achieve success without sacrificing your sanity or working yourself into the ground.
If you’re ready to:
I’m here to help you every step of the way. My mission is to equip you with the tools and strategies I wish I’d had when I started, so you can reach your goals faster, with less stress, and with a clear path forward.
